Dead Famous is back again and trying something a bit different this go round. Heatseeker, by Youthful Implants & Tigerfunk is a clever nod to the way house music used to be. Between thumping tribal rhythms, tripped out synths and nice rolling bassline, this is something that all house djs should have in their bag for 3am sessions.
First up are label heads, the Robosapiens, who have turned Heatseeker from nod to 3am house fest, to the epitome of drugged out acid breaks. Combining a seriously tripped out vibe with a driving bassline, the ‘Sapiens show once again why they are the undisputed kings of acid breaks in 2009. This remix will be spinning heads for quite some time to come. Next up is Jeroen van Aken, fresh off stellar releases on the great Aux Recordings, doing something a bit different and turning out a funky, face twisting breakbeat mix. Taking the vibe of the original, and squeezing out more juice than a shamwow, Mr. van Aken has crafted a late summer afternoon anthem that is heavy on groove.
Not to be outdone by the 2 other (and very different) breaks mixes on this package, Dead Famous's own LuQas has turned in a techfunky breaks mix, that not surprisingly differs in vibe completely from the previous 2 remixes. Taking a more psy-oriented approach, this remix BOOMS, and shows why LuQas is well on his road to being a household name when discussing the genre. Lastly, but surely not least, Italian stars-of-the-future Fisso & Spark craft a house/breaks hybrid that relives oldskool all over again and brings out feelings that people like Doc Martin and and DJ Dan rode for years and years. We feel this remix is quite the treat, and we hope you will too.
