DF01 :Robosapines

A: CHASING THE BUZZ

This 12" offers a double whammy of first time goodness - the first, heavily anticipated release from Dead Famous Records and the first of many releases from studio whizzes ROBOSAPIENS. Having exploded onto the breakbeat scene in 2004 with their acid-tinged sets and unique sound, Robosapiens have been slaving away in the studio creating some of the freshest beats around. 'Chasing the Buzz' is a peak-time monster - a hypnotic vocal loop picks you up, the bass wobbles every inch of flesh on your body and then the acid kicks in for pure unadulterated 303 madness.

AA: MONKEY DRUMMER

If you had an infinite number of monkeys and an infinite number of drums, the chances are they still couldn't bang out a tune that rocks as much as Monkey Drummer. As much as we all hate pidgeon-holing of genres and tunes, this certainly gets the ball rolling for 'stadium breaks' - epic precussion and face-melting bass combine to make a unique piece of breakbeat. And with a breakdown that sounds like Animal v Keith Moon on a speed binge, Monkey Drummer is a surefire winner for the clubs.

Review

" Can't believe this is the first release from these guys,
two very different tunes that both work really well"
- Phantom Beats

" Cool, moody atmospheric electro breaks along the lines of Radioactiveman
with an excellent melodic bassline lending from deep house.
Great crossover potential. Love it 8/10."
-Kraymon on "Monkey Drummer"

" This is a fucking cool Record."
- Carl Loben

"A massive opening gambit from this Brizzle Tech Funk label. You are going to be swept off your feet by snarls of huge acid 303, messy funk of bassline, and crunchy rhythms. It's a real eye opener for everyone who lives in dancefloor on weekends and downplays the power of 303.
This tune sets to outdo the Plumps' legendary 303 madness 'TB Reality'!! "
